The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM) invites applications for two Instructor of Humanities positions—one full-time position (1.0 FTE) and one .75-time FTE position. Both are permanent-track positions with full benefits through the State of North Carolina. We are particularly interested in candidates who have demonstrated experience engaging with diversity through activities such as fostering an inclusive environment, working with students from diverse backgrounds, or incorporating diverse perspectives in teaching.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in American Studies, literature, history, cultural studies, or a related field in the humanities. Teaching experience, preferably with advanced students.
Desired:
Experience or interest in team-teaching; willingness to teach in both NCSSM’s residential and distance-learning programs; experience in teaching writing as a tool and extension of thought, a means by which students integrate and articulate what they have learned; ability to teach a variety of interdisciplinary humanities and/or social science courses.

Mathematics Instructor at LSMSA
Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA)
LSMSA seeks applicants for Mathematics Instructor (Employment Beginning August 2018).
The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts, a selective admissions, residential high school for Louisiana’s gifted and high-achieving students, seeks to fill a mathematics teaching position beginning in August 2018. The ideal candidate will cultivate exceptional high school talent by teaching courses from College Algebra through Calculus III, supporting students in competitions, mentoring student independent research, and teaching advanced and elective courses (pure or applied) in the candidate's areas of interest. Advanced and elective courses currently being taught include DiffEQ, Linear Algebra, Topology, Modern Algebra, Chaos Theory, Graph Theory, Probability and Statistics, and Vector Calculus.
Qualifications include a Master’s degree in Mathematics, previous teaching experience, and an interest in working with bright young people. Other duties include academic advising, sponsoring, chaperoning, or assisting in extra-curricular and student social activities outside the normal school day.
