MSSM Summer Camp Health Supervisor

The Camp Health Supervisor is responsible for distributing medications to campers throughout the day. He/she will also orient new camp staff in proper medical emergency procedures.

The Camp Health Supervisor organizes camper medical information and medications and meets with parents and campers during camper orientation. In addition, he/she will assist the Summer Camp Residential Director with any medical emergencies and daily needs. The Camp Health Supervisor should enjoy working with boys and girls ages 10-14 and work closely with residential life staff.

The Camp Health Supervisor suggested hours are: Sunday 1pm-6pm and Monday-Friday: 2pm-9pm for the period between July 1 - August 4, 2018. Salary is commensurate with experience and pending contract details. (Salary includes free room and board, if room & board is desired).

The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts seeks a Coordinator of Residence Life for employment beginning in July 2018.

The Coordinator of Residence Life (CRL) is responsible for the oversight of a single-gender residence hall and the implementation of all school policies and procedures. The CRL works with members of the residential life staff to ensure that student care, development, and safety needs are met.

Basic responsibilities include staff supervision, student supervision, communication with parents, communication and collaboration with various offices on campus, administrative responsibilities, facilities management, and other duties as assigned.

Medical Responsibilities: The CRL is trained to provide basic first aid and medication administration to students. Ability to complete CPR and medication administration training as provided is necessary.

Driving Responsibilities: The CRL is required to provide local transportation (using school vehicles) to students. Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to obtain Louisiana chauffer’s license is required.

This is a full-time, live-in position with all benefits associated with being an employee of the State of Louisiana. Contract dates for the next school year will be July 23 through May 31. The starting salary for the position is $30,000 plus room and board. All positions are contingent upon funding.

The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM) invites applications for two Instructor of Humanities positions—one full-time position (1.0 FTE) and one .75-time FTE position. Both are permanent-track positions with full benefits through the State of North Carolina. Master’s degree in American Studies, literature, history, cultural studies, or a related field in the humanities. Teaching experience, preferably with advanced students.


Experience or interest in team-teaching; willingness to teach in both NCSSM’s residential and distance-learning programs; experience in teaching writing as a tool and extension of thought, a means by which students integrate and articulate what they have learned; ability to teach a variety of interdisciplinary humanities and/or social science courses.

Mathematics Instructor at LSMSA

LSMSA seeks applicants for Mathematics Instructor (Employment Beginning August 2018).

The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts, a selective admissions, residential high school for Louisiana’s gifted and high-achieving students, seeks to fill a mathematics teaching position beginning in August 2018. The ideal candidate will cultivate exceptional high school talent by teaching courses from College Algebra through Calculus III, supporting students in competitions, mentoring student independent research, and teaching advanced and elective courses (pure or applied) in the candidate's areas of interest.  Advanced and elective courses currently being taught include DiffEQ, Linear Algebra, Topology, Modern Algebra, Chaos Theory, Graph Theory, Probability and Statistics, and Vector Calculus.  

Qualifications include a Master’s degree in Mathematics, previous teaching experience, and an interest in working with bright young people. Other duties include academic advising, sponsoring, chaperoning, or assisting in extra-curricular and student social activities outside the normal school day.
