STEM Pathways Instructor

Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts (ASMSA)

The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts (ASMSA), a campus of the University of Arkansas System, invites applications from highly qualified candidates for a full-time teacher, beginning August 2015. The Computer Science Instructor will play a critical role in the development and launch of ASMSA’s STEM Pathways digital learning program.

The program will offer Advanced Placement and pre-AP coursework in STEM disciplines to students throughout Arkansas via a blend of synchronous and asynchronous instruction. The experience also includes a monthly weekend lab session to build on course concepts in an advanced setting. Digital learning faculty will also have the opportunity to collaborate with ASMSA’s residential program.

Residence Hall Director

Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics (OSSM)

The primary function of the Residence Hall Director is the day-to-day administration of the Residence Hall in order to support the academic mission of OSSM and encourage young people to realize their fullest academic potential. The Residence Hall Director lives in the Residence Hall, oversees student interactions and activities, ensures students’ mental and physical health and well-being, handles day-to-day discipline of students, and keeps careful records.

BA or MA in appropriate field preferred.

Engineering Instructor

S.C. Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics (GSSM)

GSSM seeks an exceptional Engineering instructor to start by August 2015 to continue building a strong Engineering program grounded in project-based learning that emphasizes design. Applicants should have a Master’s degree, Ph.D. preferred, in a one of the Engineering disciplines or closely related field and a love of teaching.

Desired qualifications include a strong content background in Engineering and experience in teaching Engineering at college or advanced high school levels, knowledge and application of technology, an understanding of gifted learners, enthusiasm for teaching motivated and talented high-school-aged students and an ability to advise students in the completion of senior research projects. General academic advising, committee meetings, student activity advising, and occasional evening/weekend commitments are a regular part of faculty responsibilities.

Registrar

Maine School of Science & Mathematics

Position Description:

The Registrar:

  • Performs a wide variety of tasks to assist the smooth, efficient operation of all of MSSM’s Academic Programs
  • Promotes positive public relations with the community and school; maintains records of the Academic Office pertaining to student information, registration, schedules, grades, test scores, special education files, and any other related data
  • Manages; provides technical assistance and training for the school in student information systems {Infinite Campus}
  • Works under the direction of the Dean of Faculty and provides administrative support to the Dean of Faculty
  • Submits all reports to the Department of Education

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three years of related educational work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of school and state law and state and federal FERPA laws
