Data Visualization in a Planetarium

In this interactive webinar, we will provide several examples of visualizing data using a digital planetarium. Examples will include three-dimensional (volumetric) models of galaxies and nebulae; point cloud datasets such as exoplanet locations; viewing the sky in wavelengths other than visible light; magnitudes and locations of earthquakes on Earth; and more.

Free Cybersecurity Resources for Secondary Teachers

The National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) program is managed by NSA’s National Cryptologic School. The NCAE-C program aims to create and manage a collaborative cybersecurity educational program with over 460 designated community colleges, colleges, and universities throughout the US.

Academic institutions may choose from three designations: Cyber Defense, Cyber Operations, &/or Cyber Research. This designation assures that the institution meets the desired characteristics of a CAE institution, and that the academic delivery to students is producing the qualified workforce needed by the nation.

Within the CAE Community, many institutions are actively working with secondary school districts and partners to develop collaborative opportunities or resources in cybersecurity education.

During this session, information on FREE secondary cybersecurity resources will be discussed. The discussion will be a dialogue so questions are encouraged. No background knowledge on cybersecurity required~just an interest in learning about resources that can be used in the classroom!

About the Speaker:

Ms. Ashley Greeley is the K12 Mission Lead within the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) Program Office at the National Cryptologic University, housed at the National Security Agency (NSA). Prior to joining the NSA in 2018, Ms. Greeley spent 16 years teaching social studies and coaching basketball at the high school level. Her passion continues to be creating, exposing, and communicating cybersecurity opportunities to teachers, students, and other professionals so that they can achieve their goals. Her background teaching US history, sociology, and US government aligns with her interest in the humanistic and policy aspects of cybersecurity. Her previous and current roles at the NSA include serving as a cybersecurity instructor, leading the GenCyber program, and working with the NCAE-C program.

Ms. Greeley was born and raised in West Lafayette, IN and is a proud graduate of Purdue University (bachelor’s/master’s). Her hobbies include traveling with her husband, spending time with family, being outside, attending Purdue sporting events, and reading books.
